Airbrush Tanning is a new and safe way of achieving a golden look without the risks of skin cancer often associated with overexposure from the sun or from a tanning bed. Using an airbrush, a dark liquid containing dihydroxyacetone (DHA) is applied to the body by a certified spray technician. DHA is a colorless sugar that has been FDA approved for more than 30 years. DHA darkens the skin by interacting with the amino acids in the dead surface cells found in the outermost layer of the skin, producing color changes. As the dead skin cells are naturally wearing off, the color gradually fades, just like a genuine sun tan. This does not cause damage to the underlying living layers of skin.

Is this going to make my skin orange? It does not produce the orange color you used to see years ago with self-tanning products because this is not a dye. Although everyone's skin is different, most people will achieve a healthly bronze glow. Just like you would get from the natural sun.
Is Airbrush Tanning safe? Yes, the active ingredient DHA has been approved for cosmetic applications for 30 years. Most Sunless and bronzing tanning lotions use DHA. People who have allergies should test skin first before using.
How long does Airbrush Tanning take to apply? It takes about 15 to 20 minutes for the whole process to be completed. The first 10 minutes is having the DHA solution applied to your body. Then it takes about five to ten minutes for it to dry.
How long does it last? Results will vary among different skin types, but most people usually keep their color 5 to 7 days.
How should I prepare for my Airbrush Tanning session? Exfoliate the body and shower before you arrive for your appointment. Make sure that there are no oils, lotions, perfumes, and makeup on the body. It's best to wear loose fitting clothing after your session. During your session you can wear a bathing suit while getting sprayed.
What should I do after my Airbrush Tanning session? Wear loose-fitting clothing for about three hours. And also, do not shower, work out, or do any activity that will make you sweat for the same period of time. This allows the DHA solution plenty of time to react with the amino acids in the skin.
